  • To get the most accurate results from your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test, it’s important to follow these simple steps:

    • Arrive fasting: Do not eat or drink anything (except water) for at least 4–6 hours before your test.

    • Avoid stimulants: Skip caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks) and nicotine for at least 4 hours prior.

    • Rested body, rested mind: Avoid strenuous exercise or intense physical activity for 24 hours before testing.

    • Stay relaxed: Try to arrive calm and rested. Stress, rushing, or lack of sleep can affect your results.

    • Comfortable clothing: Wear relaxed, comfortable clothes so you can sit or recline quietly during the test.

  • The RMR test is quick and simple, usually taking about 15–20 minutes of relaxed breathing. We’ll ask you to sit or recline in a comfortable position while breathing naturally into the device. The entire appointment, including setup and review of your results, typically lasts about 30 minutes.
